Faq's

I highly recommend custom ordering your piece. By completing the custom order form, I will get in touch with you so we can hammer out the details of your piece. Custom ordering provides the most options and flexibility. A limited number of pre-designed pieces are available for purchase in my shop. These pieces are handcrafted just the same but will be built to match the style shown on the listing.

Do I need to custom order a piece?

Excellent question! If you do not know your ring size, please let me know during our initial conversations. I can send you a ring sizing kit so you're able to determine the perfect fit prior to the fabrication of your custom piece.

How do I tell my ring size?

Typically, ring will arrive 4-5 weeks from the time of initial payment. I'll be in touch with you throughout the process. If you're needing your ring or custom jewelry sooner, please let me know and we can discuss options!

What is the Delivery timeframe?

With custom work, sometimes an adjustment is needed. I'm behind you for three months from the first delivery of your ring. If it doesn't fit, simply send it back and I will make the appropriate adjustments. I want your ring to fit just right!

What if my ring doesn't fit?

Yes! Every piece of jewelry is handmade in my shop! Even if you wish to match a specific Mokume Gane ring style, the patterns and textures of the ring vary, so your piece will be a true one-of-a-kind!

Is each piece truly custom?

Since each piece is custom built, pricing reflects the variability of options. Materials, finish, sizing and stone selection all have an impact on the final price. I will work with you during the creation process to build a design that works best for you! A 2/3rd's deposit will be due at the time of purchase. Invoices are sent via email with multiple payment options available. For any pre-designed piece in my shop, the pricing shown is the price you pay. For pre-designed pieces, the full amount is due upon purchase, with rings arriving in 4-5 weeks.

How does pricing work?

Yes. Each ring will receive a lining for quality and integrity. This makes the silver act as an accent metal on the surface of the ring, which eliminates most allergy concerns with silver.

Are rings lined?

I recommend a satin finish for best show of colors.  The high polish has a beauty of its own, but due to the glare off the shiny finish, the color is hard to see.  The satin finish is applied with light swiping with a red grade scotchbrite pad (available at Hardwares stores) so you can reapply anytime on your own.

What finish do you recommend?

Mokume Gane has so much unique character.  From smooth finish to heavy etching with amazing texture, it is an incredible art form.  All of my combination have a silver layer between the gold layers.  This layer can take on a tarnish when exposed to certain elements like sulfur or heavy
chlorine.  On smooth finishes and lightly etched, any darkening/tarnishing to the silver wipes away easily (a swipe with a scotch brite pad if ever stubborn).  Going a little deeper with the etching allows for the true character of Mokume Gane.  The sterling silver layer is the metal that reacts to the etching process.  This lowers the silver layer so it is not as easily rubbed which allows for a more antique look.  This means that the deeper the etching, the more the ring will hold a darker tone.

How does etching work?

Each item is carefully packaged and shipped from Colorado. Shipping is included with the purchase of your piece.

Each piece is truly custom and I pour my heart and soul into ensuring your satisfaction. As is the nature of custom work, sometimes adjustments are needed. I'm behind you for 3 months from delivery on any sizing adjustments or tweaks. In the case of a return, I ask you contact me within 7 days of receiving your piece so I can best take care of you!
